Travel | Mauritius: Gorgeous Water, Amazing Food

image

While in Mauritius we booked a full day trip (dolphins encounter + lunch on l’ile aux Bénitiers) with Dolswim. It was just us, with another family of three, so there was lots of space in the speedboat. Our two guides made sure we were having the best time, by keeping the snacks, drinks, and jokes coming.

Shawn went in first for a swim with the dolphins, and he had the most amazing experience! Four bottlenose dolphins swam so close! I’m not a swimmer, but the guide assured me that I didn’t have to miss out on the opportunity. He held my hand, and was patient even when I freaked out after realising I was in the middle of the ocean! 😀

We also stopped at Crystal Rock, which is an absolute wonder to see in reality.  We got into the water again there – great for non-swimmers and little ones, as the water’s shallow and gorgeous! Zee loved it.

Next it was off to the wild island for the yummiest lunch, prepared and served by the Dolswim guys. After, we had time to relax there, before heading back.

Should we return to Mauritius, we’ll definitely do this again… Perhaps just minus the panic attack in the ocean!

I had never been too keen on going to Mauritius, but now that we’ve been, I can understand why so many people love it! We had a wonderful time. 🙂

Wow, what an amazing experience. I’d love to visit Mauritius. We were lucky enough to swim with dolphins during our honeymoon to Cuba. Thanks for linking up again last month. #wanderlustkids
