When Zee and I were asked to have a share in letting everyone know that LOL Surprise is back in South Africa, we were thrilled! Zee started her cute, but fierce LOL Surprise collection five years ago, and we were excited to see the brand’s updated, refreshed new toys. Lacey’s Toys did not disappoint! They’ve launched a completely new range of dolls, play sets, mini dolls and more.

The first items Zee received from the new range were an O.M.G. Series 4.5 Doll, a Colour Change Surprise Doll, and a Hair Hair Hair Doll. Each doll is adorable and fun to unbox, but there’s definitely a standout fave amongst them. I think you’ll know exactly which one that is, as I tell you a little about each of the dolls as well as our thoughts on them.

LOL Surprise Colour Change Surprise – Genie

These little cuties are re-released fan favourite dolls, with a colour change surprise. Part of the doll, plus the entire ball (this is a first) change colour when placed in either ice cold or warm water. A dip in some ice cold water revealed green stars on Genie’s hair, while the ball turned dark pink. Zee and I both agreed that this range of 12 dolls would most likely be a huge hit with younger children. We think they’d have loads of fun unwrapping the ball and discovering the 7 surprises along the way.

LOL Surprise Hair Hair Hair Doll – MC NYC

If your child loves trying out new hairstyles on themselves (and on you 😁), this stylish little doll is a winner! Zee is amazing with hair, and she loves MC NYC and her fabulous locks! Each of the six dolls come with real hair that’s lovely to style, and the cutest little scrunchies, clips and fashion accessories. The packaging also allows you to see the doll, so you can pick exactly which of the girls you’re adding to your collection.

LOL Surprise OMG Series 4.5 – Moonlight BB

Until now, all the LOL Surprise dolls that Zee has collected over the years have been the mini dolls. You can imagine the excitement of seeing an O.M.G. doll for the first time! Let’s talk about the packaging. The size of the box makes it clear that this is going to be a bigger doll. Oh, and the packaging becomes a play set with a dressing room – how sweet? The animated pic of the doll on the box is so gorgeous, even I couldn’t wait for Zee to unbox her. In fact, she loved her look so much, she decided to go with a matching hairstyle when we made the reel (you can watch that here).

Tweens and teens will love the O.M.G. Series 4.5 dolls because Moonlight BB and her bestie Sunshine Gurl are also older girls. They’re super stylish, have stunning hair, and will make a fabulous, more mature addition to their LOL Surprise collection.

Personally, I’m a little obsessed with Sunshine Gurl! Yes, yes, I’m aware that I’m an adult, but I heart this doll! Just thought I’d put it out there, you know in case anyone was thinking of getting me a gift. 😉

We had so much fun discovering some of the new LOL Surprise range. Between the pressures of school work and ballet exams, it was nice to relax and play again.
