Late last year I received the LG Smart Inverter Top Load Washing Machine to review. I’m a big fan of the brand when it comes to home appliances, and haven’t been disappointed yet, so this was a brilliant gift. Thank you LG. 🙂
I opted for a 13kg machine, as it’s bigger than my old 10kg machine (also an LG), but compact enough to fit comfortably into the space we have for it. 15kg, and 17kg Smart Inverter machines are also available, and they come in silver or white. I chose silver, to match the rest of my kitchen appliances.
Design and features
The LG Smart Inverter is a good looking machine, but there’s so much more to it than just a pretty diamond glass face. 😉
These are just some of the very impressive features:
Energy Saving with Smart Inverter Control eliminates wasted operation by efficiently controlling energy use, which means a saving of 36% on energy consumption.
Smart Motion is 3 kinds of motions created by Smart Inverter for optimized washing by fabric type – Agitating (powerful wash), Rotating (tangle free wash), and Swing (delicate wash).
TurboDrum™ enables the most powerful wash and removes the toughest dirt through strong water stream of rotating drum and pulsator in the opposite direction.
LoDecibel™ & Less Vibration – The Smart Inverter Motor minimizes noise and vibration level, making for a very durable machine.
What I’m loving most about the LG Smart Inverter
Something I’ve noticed from the many loads of laundry I’ve already done, is that there has been absolutely no washing powder residue on the clothes. None! I love that! I was so thrilled with this discovery, that I headed to the website to see if this is actually a thing. It is! According to the website, the Side Waterfall feature enables the best mixing of detergent with water while minimizing detergent residue that can cause skin irritation and allergy (not to mention mom irritation, at having to get rid of those marks after removing the clothes from the machine).
Another feature I appreciate is the soft closing lid/door, which means no loud bang or damage should you accidentally let go of the lid. And I’m not the only one who thinks this feature is awesome. ?
Final verdict
I’m really happy with the machine. It’s pretty, and looks good with the other appliances, but LG’s Smart features are what make it truly fantastic. It’s doing a great job of getting our clothes really clean, whilst being kind to the planet at the same time (energy saving), and that’s pretty cool.

Ooh shiny. I like. We used to have a toploader and when it was time to upgrade opted for a frontloader….I like the soft closing lid feature and no washing powder residue, was two of the reasons I was done with toploaders.
The washing powder thing impresses me so much, I’m really happy with that.
Great post! Mine is scheduled for tomorrow and I am a little bit stressed! ?

Great review! I am in desperate need of a new washing machine, and you guys are doing a pretty good job of convincing me to get this one…
Thanks so much Maz! It’s definitely a brilliant option! ?
Oh this looks awesome – i think its time for me to get a new washing machine – with three children I need a bigger drum! #Globalblogging
This would be an awesome choice if you decide to get a new one. ?
It’s so shiny and new! Soft closing lid is amazing! I have a front loader now but I remember my old machine would bang so hard if I dropped the lid on accident. #GlobalBlogging
That lid feature is our fave! ?
