Lush – FUN

I only recently discovered the loveliness that is Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics. I remember seeing a Lush store in Amsterdam in 2013, but I didn’t go in, and then it was forgotten. It was on a recent trip to Durban, and the inevitable Gateway mall visit that we visited the interesting looking natural skincare store for the first time.

We were helped by the very friendly Fatima, who had a really cool tattoo on her arm – I mention it, because it’s the first thing I noticed when I had walked by the store earlier that day. Her head had been covered with a towel then, and I learned later that she’d been having her face steamed with one of their amazing products, which of course I had to buy on seeing how great it made her skin look (more on this one in a future post).

Zee quickly found the little table with the red play dough and moulds, and started having fun. Turns out the play dough was called FUN, a mouldable soap… or shampoo, or play dough, or whatever you want it to be really.

Here’s what the website says about it:

Ideal for children (of all ages), Red Fun can be whatever you want it to be. A 4-in-1 product, this gentle product can be used as a solid shampoo, bubble bar, soap, or even to play with. One of five colours in the range, this is perfect for brightening up your day. First, enjoy making models and shapes out of it, and then either break off a small piece and use as a soap or shampoo, or crumble under running water for bubble bath. It contains orange oil and mandarin oil to add sunshine to your mood.

When I asked Zee which one she’d like, she said “pink is my favourite colour, but the red smells the prettiest, so a red please!” Mandarin + orange = winning combination.

Mommy tip: FUN has made bathtime way more, er.. fun! 😀 If you’d like to change “but I just had a bath yesterday” to “can I pleeeeeease have a bath now mom?” then you need to get them their own bar of FUN too.

A tiny piece is enough to get them all soapy and clean, and you can even dry off the pieces they’ve used as play dough and reuse. It’s a 200g bar, retails for R89, and will last quite a while. We’re not even halfway through ours yet, and Zee already wants to know when we can visit the Lush in Johannesburg, because she “needs more cute and nice smelling stuff.” 🙂
