Last week I shared some photos on Instagram of the gifts that Zee and I received from Wanderlust Lockets. They really are the most gorgeous, special pieces of jewellery, and we adore our lockets. ❤️
The Wanderlust Lockets Story
Wanderlust Lockets rebranded recently. They have a lovely new website, and have launched new products, and services like custom engraving and photo plates.
Here’s what you need to know about this wonderful local brand, in their own words:

At Wanderlust, all our treasures are carefully chosen, personalized, and locally packaged with care and love in the Garden Route. We put extra effort into the finer details and making things pretty, whether it be on the jewellery pieces themselves (Wanderlust Stories & Roots Collection) or creative elements on our packaging. We enjoy extending this care and effort to those around us and that is why we are proud to have partnered with LIFE Community Services who produce our custom fabric bags and assist us with assembling our Wanderlust boxes.
Matching prezzies? Yes please!
When Tamarin contacted me and asked if she could send us a mommy and daughter set, I literally let out an excited squeal! ? I’d been drooling over her gorgeous creations for a while (and so had my kid – she seems to sense whenever I’m looking at pretty things on my iPad, and is magnetically drawn to my side).
I decided then that I’d keep this a secret from Zee, and surprise her with the locket when it arrived. A few days later though, I decided to tell her, so that she could choose exactly what she wanted. Putting your locket together is so much fun, and I didn’t want her missing out on that. It can also be really confusing, because there’s so much prettiness to choose from!
How it works
These are the four simple steps to build your perfect, custom set:
1. Choose from the lovely selection of glass lockets. There are different shapes and metal colours; something to suit everyone’s personal style.
2. Choose a chain. There’s a variety of lengths, styles, and colours.
3. Choose a plate. You can choose from the range of Journey and Glam plates, or personalize your very own Wanderlust Stories plate.
4. Choose your charms. Have fun filling your locket with charms that mean something special to you. Add a touch of sparkle with crystals, or glam with pearls.
Our Wanderlust Lockets
Choosing my glass locket and charms didn’t take long at all; I knew right away that I wanted the gorgeous Silver Shimmer locket, and my perpetual wanderlust made the travel charm set the obvious choice. Confusion set in with regards to a plate – did I want a nice quote? Special dates? Then Tamarin sent me pics of amazing new engraved quotes they’d been working on, and two gorgeous photo plates – cue more confusion! Some of those quotes would work perfectly with the travel theme I’d decided on… but a photo plate with a pic of my little family would be wonderful… Tamarin to the rescue! ? She said she could engrave the photo of my family on one side of the plate, and engrave a quote on the other. Perfect!
Zee was, as always, a lot more decisive than mommy. As soon as she saw the Lily Lemonade and rainbow toots set, she told me that she’d found what she wanted. Tamarin told me she would also add her name initials, to personalize it; and she asked me to give her a special quote or message that could be engraved at the back. I went with “I love you to the moon and back” as it’s something I always say to her, and even as a baby she would react so cutely to those words. ❤️
Special surprises
As if our lockets weren’t amazing enough already, there were more surprises! My little person was sent a second plate, and a super cute charm set that screams Summer! She was so excited – “Mommy, did you know I was going to get two sets?” ?
Also, how pretty is this “You are mermazing” card?
Of course this big kid wasn’t forgotten either. ? Three charms were chosen especially for me, based on my blog name. Love!

I can’t say enough good things. The products are stunning, and customer service is incredible. The special touches brighten up any day – from the cute box your locket comes in, to the hand written message on a matching card; it’s all, as I keep saying, truly special.
