INOAR Botox

I’m just going to put it out there – I had Botox done, and it was just the lift I needed!

No, not that Botox… Let’s hope there’s no need for that anytime in the foreseeable future (on that note, note to self: remember to moisturize, use sunscreen, and drink loads of water everyday 😋).

This Botox was on my hair. Last Sunday I was invited to try out INOAR‘s Botox for hair, G.Hair B-Tox.

INOAR Professional is a hair treatment research and manufacturing company that distributes globally and is one of  the largest hair treatment companies  in the world. The company was founded by Ino Manoel in the year 2000. With an outstanding range of in-salon treatments and after care, INOAR has a product for every hair type.

In case you’re wondering what hair Botox is, here’s a little information about the product:

G.Hair B-Tox is designed as a quick and instant fix for damaged hair. It contains Wheat Germ oil, Argan oil, Shea Butter, Hydrolyzed Keratin, and Grape Extract. The treatment is rich in Vitamins A, C, and E, as well as antioxidants, all of which protect your hair from the harmful stuff. It can be done as a stand-alone treatment after colour, or as a booster in between Brazilian treatments.

And these are the benefits you can expect after a G.Hair B-Tox treatment:

* Restores and hydrates
* Promotes hair growth
* Strengthens hair
* Volume reduction
* Frizz reduction
* Curl reduction
* Manageable hair
* Reduces knots and easily detangles
* Adds shine

INOAR Botox

I arrived for my appointment at the very busy (yes, even on a Sunday; testament to how amazing these ladies are) Sorbet Drybar Dunkeld about 10 minutes early. I only waited a short while before I was helped by Loveth. First, she washed and then towel-dried my hair. Next, she applied the G.Hair B-Tox mask to my hair. She combed it through, ensuring that the product was evenly applied to all the hair. Then she wrapped my hair in cling wrap (quite a fab look 😂), and informed me that we’d have to wait 30 minutes. I relaxed with a cup of coffee, while waiting for the Botox to work it’s magic.

Something I was very impressed with by this point was how gentle the treatment was on my usually sensitive scalp (and on my extremely sensitive nose haha) – there was no burning or itching, and there was no strong smell. Most hair treatments come with all 3 nasties, so I was very happy with this one.

Once our 30 minutes was up, Loveth rinsed the mask off, and treated me to the most wonderful head massage (easy to see why her name starts with Love!). Once my massage was done, and before I could doze off, it was time for the big reveal – would my hair look and feel as promised? Loveth blow dried my hair, and styled it with round brushes at the ends. Once she was done, I couldn’t help but smile. My (naturally curly, and sometimes dry) hair looked shiny and really pretty, and it felt soft and light. Lifeless and dull hair revived in 30 minutes? Check! 🙂

The results of the treatment can last for 4 weeks, so I’m looking forward to seeing how mine holds up. I’m really impressed with it so far. It’s been 9 days, and my hair really feels strong and healthy.

If, like myself, you’ve not really treated your hair (no, regular washes don’t count) in a while, INOAR Botox would be a brilliant idea to get it – and you – looking and feeling brand new again.

Get ready to play with Prima Top Toys

At a media launch in July, Prima Toys announced their Top Toys for December 2017. These are the toys that kids will be gazing at longingly in toy stores during the school holidays/festive season. Imagine how cool you’d be if you surprised them with any of these even before they give you those puppy dog eyes, or drop helpful hints. 😀

Before we get to the toys, I have to tell you a little about the launch, held at The Bryanston Country Club. On arrival the lovely ladies from MatsiMela Home Spa treated us to hand massages, as we sipped on champagne (how fabulous? 😉).

Of course, being the kind of people who enjoy spoiling others, meant that MatsiMela also had gifts waiting for us on our way out that day. 🙂 I received the Rooibos & Honey Body Butter and Fizz Ball. The scent of these products – oh my gosh! So beautiful!

Warren Murray from MamaMagic, The Baby Expo spoke about equal parenting, highlighting how dads should be as involved in raising and caring for their kids as moms are. During his talk he also mentioned how the few minutes you take to play is so appreciated by your child, and it’s those moments that become treasured memories.

Dr Shireen Thomas-Stark told us that when parents buy toys for their kids, they’re actually “investing money” because of the many benefits of play such as promoting creativity and problem solving.

Finally it was time for the real fun – Prima Toys marketing executive Chiquita Patrizi revealed Top Toys 2017! 😀

Shopkins Happy Places

Little ones can turn any space into a happy place with the Shopkins Happy Places range. The largest set in the Happy Places range is the Happy Home set that includes several Puppy Parlour Petkins and a Lil’ Shoppie. Other playsets include Kitty Kitchen, Dreamy Bear, Bathing Bunny, Slumber Bear Party, Bunny Laundry, Mousy Hangout, and plenty more. There is so much more to collect for the Shopkins fan. All sets include their own miniature Petkins and other accessories to go with whichever Happy Place you choose. Doll house play just got better because interior décor has never been cuter.

Little Live Pets Surprise Chicks

This one got everyone (each one of us an adult 😋) super excited! There was one Surprise Chick on each table, and watching them hatch and then move cutely around the table had us oohing, aahing, and giggling so much, that it took a while for everyone to settle again. For a few minutes, we were kids again, and it was such fun. Thank you Prima Toys for reminding us of the power of play.

There are five Chicks to collect: Patty the Party Chick, Blossy the Daisy Chick, Tilly the Dancing Chick, Beaky the Rainbow Chick and Henny Penny the Sunny Chick. You won’t know which Chick you’ve got till they hatch. The fun doesn’t end with the first hatch though; your Chick can hatch over and over again for endless fun. Fancy some sweet Chick chirping? Simply pet your Chick, the more you pet it the more it will chirp. So cute!

Elena of Avalor

Princess Elena is bold, confident and kind. With the help of family, friends, and magical flying creatures called jacquins, she must now rule the kingdom as Crown Princess, until she is old enough to be Queen. The Disney Elena of Avalor range of toys includes dolls and accessories, perfect for lots of fun roleplay.

L.O.L Surprise Tots Ball

Once again, we had the chance to play, with an adorable L.O.L being passed around each table, for each of us to unwrap and discover. First you get a secret message, then collectable stickers, a feeding bottle, doll shoes, an outfit, an accessory, and then a fantastic doll. There are forty five dolls to collect, each with their unique accessories.

Brand new action figures are available in various sizes, each with their own special movement capabilities. There is also a range of exciting playsets including the Rustbucket Deluxe Playset, and the Ben 10 Transform & Battle Set, which features a favourite alien along with a gauntlet mask to match. The range also includes wearable accessories that will take roleplay to a whole new level of fun!

Fingerlings Baby Monkeys

These guys will hang on to your fingers and tell you how they are feeling in 50 different ways. Listen to them making near real monkey sounds and watch them blink their eyes and turn their heads. Their hands and feet have a grip surface to hang upside down just like real monkeys.

Rubiks

The new range Rubiks includes Rubik’s Build IT solve IT, which comes with all the necessary parts to build your own cube (you can finally solve this 40 year mystery); Rubik’s Race, a two player game to get your fingers and brain working – the aim is to be the first player to make the 3×3 centre match pattern and the Rubik’s Tower – the new twist on the original cube, even more challenging than the original cube.

20 Questions

20 Questions is a classic for the whole family. Test your knowledge of people, places, things and important dates, and enjoy seeing everyone racking their brain trying to figure out the correct answers.

And there you have it, just some of #PrimaTopToys for the coming festive season.

We were gifted with goodie bags once the program was over, and it was a bag that made my little person really happy. One of the prezzies inside was her first ever pack of Shopkins, and now she wants to collect them all (they are super cute, so I totally get it).

#JoziMeetup

After missing the last few #JoziMeetup events, I was really keen on attending this year. When Heather of SA Mom Blogs (the awesome organizer of the event) announced the date, I was so excited, and I told my husband right away to keep that weekend clear. With us not living in Johannesburg, we need to plan ahead for events like these.

#JoziMeetup

I was so happy to hear that fellow “long distance” mommy blogger, Carly would also be attending (she lives an hour further from Jozi than I do!). We bought our tickets on the same day, and being “meetup newbies”, were both glad we’d have someone we know there – even if it is only through our blogs and the occasional WhatsApp chat.

The Venue

The venue for the meetup was Cafe Zing at The Regent Hotel in Sandton. Cafe Zing is a perfect place for events like this. It’s smart, while still being casual and comfortable. The food was pretty good too.

The Speakers

#JoziMeetup - speakers

First up on the agenda was daddy blogger Mike Said, who told us about his trip around SA with his daughter, and how eighty brands had pitched in to make it a reality. He joked and made us laugh, and his advice on building your brand and being true to it was solid.

Samantha Lockhart from Matsimela Home Spa was down sick, so she didn’t make it, but we were still in for a treat – three therapists were there to pamper us with amazing hand massages, and a gorgeous gift in our goody bags. Note how pleased I look in the pic, about the massage. 🙈

#JoziMeetup - matsimela

Nicole Sparrow from Autograph PR gave us extremely helpful insight into what brands like (responsibile writing, for one) and what they definitely don’t (trashing them online is unnecessary and just plain ugly).

Wanda Ambrosini and Krystle told us about Prima Baby. Having launched in South Africa in March 2017, it’s no wonder that Wanda referred to it as their very new baby. Krystle showed us some of the products, including a stroller which weighs only 3.6kg and is extremely easy to close up and lift up into your car boot – I just wanted to know where this awesomeness was when Zee was a baby, and I had to fight with that heavy pram! 😀

Veruska D’Onofrio was there to speak on behalf of Prima Toys. Her presentation centered on play, and the many benefits which come from our kids having the freedom to play. She then handed over to Sashalee Findlay who told us about the toys they had displayed, and then they gave some away – YAY! I was super excited to answer two of the very difficult (heehee.. not really, one was Disney related, and the other was a riddle I eventually I remembered seeing on a kids jokes website I’d once looked up for Zee) questions first, and win two beautiful Disney Princess dolls for my girl. 🙂

#JoziMeetup Prima Toys

The final speaker was Jeanette Wentzel from Whisky Of The Week. It was so nice meeting Jeanette, as we’d been chatting quite a bit on Twitter recently. She’s just as lovely in person, and she really knows whisky. 😉 She told us about local whisky brand, Bain’s, and took us through a whisky tasting. I’m not a whisky drinker, so while I didn’t love the taste, I did love how it smelled.

#JoziMeetup

Those Goody Bags… Wow!

I don’t know how Heather did it, but on top of arranging a fantastic event, she also got us the most incredible goody bags! As soon as we sat down, I noticed two familiar looking clear boxes at the top on the bag – a Tangle Teezer and Invisibobbles… Yes!!! 😀 I’d been wanting to get a Tangle Teezer so bad, and I was thrilled at how brilliantly it worked! The bag was filled with so many lovely products, like eye makeup, skincare, and kids shampoo. I’ll tell you about them as I try them.

#JoziMeetup - tangleteezer invisibobbles

I had a great time at the #JoziMeetup. It was so good meeting people with whom I interact so often online, in reality. And I’m very grateful for all we learned from the speakers. Definitely a most productive day.

And finally, a pic at our table. Thank you for the pic Laura. 🙂
