A little visit to Boulders Beach

During our trip to Cape Town in June, we introduced Zee to some very well dressed friends. I’m talking about the the cutest little guys in tuxedos you ever will see; the endangered African penguins at Boulders Beach, near Simon’s Town.

Zee loved watching them walk waddle around freely. A stroll on the boardwalk was also a winner with our little explorer. She got to see so many penguins, and spotted a few penguin eggs too.

Oh, and she got to meet a few gorgeous supermodels who didn’t mind striking a pose for the camera – seriously, just look at these two! 👇🏼😀

Get the kids involved in helping save the Rhino, with the Rhino Coin Bank

Prima Toys and Wildlife ACT have once again come together in support of one of South Africa’s most iconic and endangered wild creatures – the Rhino.

Rhino

The two conservation-minded organisations, have worked together in the past to raise funds to help feed and care for baby rhinos, who have been orphaned as a result of prolific poaching. In past years, Prima Toys and Pick n Pay have raised more than R500 000 for Wildlife ACT, through their Baby Rhino and Wild Pals soft toy promotions, all funded by the generous people of South Africa, who through their purchase of these soft toys, donate to the cause.

This year, in support of World Rhino Day (22 September), Prima Toys will be launching 20 000 Rhino Coin Banks into South African toy retailers. These are adorable, soft toy rhino ‘piggy banks’, with a plastic interior and a removable stopper to hold cash and coins inside its belly. These will be available for purchase in all leading toy specialist and supermarket stores.

For every purchase of one of these Rhino Coin Banks, Prima Toys will donate R10 to Wildlife ACT, who facilitates the funding of various organisations that care for and feed baby orphaned rhinos, until they are old enough to be released back into the wild.

“Prima Toys hopes to raise awareness of the plight of rhinos among younger generations, and have guaranteed a contribution of R200 000 to this very worthy cause.”

– Chiquita Patrizi, Marketing Executive, Prima Toys.

In addition to this funding, any money that a child saves in his or her Rhino Coin Bank, can be donated back to Wildlife ACT – through their ‘Donations’ portal on https://www.givengain.com/cc/primatoys/. Prima Toys will in turn donate 10 x Toy Hamper prizes in a ‘Lucky Draw’ competition to five boys and five girls who make a donation through the GivenGain website.

Wildlife ACT is a registered non-profit organisation, staffed by conservationists, dedicated to preserving endangered wildlife within South Africa. The funds will be used to help sponsor the teams that are sent out to find and rescue the orphaned rhinos in the wild, the formula (milk) and feed needed to sustain the baby rhinos, and the upgrade of security at the bomas where these orphans are held.

“Despite a small drop in poaching numbers announced by the Department of Environmental Affairs recently, our rhinos are still under threat. Not only do we need to keep up the fight against poaching, we desperately need to ensure that the baby rhinos that are orphaned as a result, are rescued and adequately cared for. Without their mothers, orphaned rhinos would sadly die without our assistance.”

INOAR Botox

I’m just going to put it out there – I had Botox done, and it was just the lift I needed!

No, not that Botox… Let’s hope there’s no need for that anytime in the foreseeable future (on that note, note to self: remember to moisturize, use sunscreen, and drink loads of water everyday 😋).

This Botox was on my hair. Last Sunday I was invited to try out INOAR‘s Botox for hair, G.Hair B-Tox.

INOAR Professional is a hair treatment research and manufacturing company that distributes globally and is one of  the largest hair treatment companies  in the world. The company was founded by Ino Manoel in the year 2000. With an outstanding range of in-salon treatments and after care, INOAR has a product for every hair type.

In case you’re wondering what hair Botox is, here’s a little information about the product:

G.Hair B-Tox is designed as a quick and instant fix for damaged hair. It contains Wheat Germ oil, Argan oil, Shea Butter, Hydrolyzed Keratin, and Grape Extract. The treatment is rich in Vitamins A, C, and E, as well as antioxidants, all of which protect your hair from the harmful stuff. It can be done as a stand-alone treatment after colour, or as a booster in between Brazilian treatments.

And these are the benefits you can expect after a G.Hair B-Tox treatment:

* Restores and hydrates
* Promotes hair growth
* Strengthens hair
* Volume reduction
* Frizz reduction
* Curl reduction
* Manageable hair
* Reduces knots and easily detangles
* Adds shine

I arrived for my appointment at the very busy (yes, even on a Sunday; testament to how amazing these ladies are) Sorbet Drybar Dunkeld about 10 minutes early. I only waited a short while before I was helped by Loveth. First, she washed and then towel-dried my hair. Next, she applied the G.Hair B-Tox mask to my hair. She combed it through, ensuring that the product was evenly applied to all the hair. Then she wrapped my hair in cling wrap (quite a fab look 😂), and informed me that we’d have to wait 30 minutes. I relaxed with a cup of coffee, while waiting for the Botox to work it’s magic.

Something I was very impressed with by this point was how gentle the treatment was on my usually sensitive scalp (and on my extremely sensitive nose haha) – there was no burning or itching, and there was no strong smell. Most hair treatments come with all 3 nasties, so I was very happy with this one.

Once our 30 minutes was up, Loveth rinsed the mask off, and treated me to the most wonderful head massage (easy to see why her name starts with Love!). Once my massage was done, and before I could doze off, it was time for the big reveal – would my hair look and feel as promised? Loveth blow dried my hair, and styled it with round brushes at the ends. Once she was done, I couldn’t help but smile. My (naturally curly, and sometimes dry) hair looked shiny and really pretty, and it felt soft and light. Lifeless and dull hair revived in 30 minutes? Check! 🙂

The results of the treatment can last for 4 weeks, so I’m looking forward to seeing how mine holds up. I’m really impressed with it so far. It’s been 9 days, and my hair really feels strong and healthy.

If, like myself, you’ve not really treated your hair (no, regular washes don’t count) in a while, INOAR Botox would be a brilliant idea to get it – and you – looking and feeling brand new again.
